I grew up in a small Massachusetts town, a short hop from Cape Cod, the coast of Maine and the mountains of New Hampshire. It was there that I developed a passion for photographing the natural world and our delicate connection to it. I've been blessed to be able to share that passion over a span of 25 years as a newspaper photojournalist. Still driven by a photojournalist's curiosity and wanderlust, I love to explore the new and revisit the old, photographing the places of memories and life stories. I love that photography enables me to share those places, and allows the viewer to make their own personal connection to them.

Embrace the culture and personality of people and places, the grandeur of land and sea, and the details of nature through large fine art prints, canvas gallery prints, and prints on metal and acrylic. Engaging images for healthcare and home settings celebrate the environment and our connection to it, and help transform interior spaces into enriching environments of relaxation and inspiration.

Print and other product information can be found on the Products page, and you can choose from a large selection of fine art prints, framed prints, canvas gallery prints and metal print wall art on the Shop page. Commercial licensing of selected images is available through iStock/Getty Images and Shutterstock. Requests for new images are welcomed, and I can be reached for assignment and commission work by email or through the Contact page .

As a photographer, I am drawn to the same elements that drive many artists – light, shape, color, and the magical interplay that exists between them. My goal is to re-approach these elements from different viewpoints and different frames of mind. It is in this re-approach that I find my inspiration. It allows me to share on a personal level that which comes from a love of capturing what is often hidden or unobvious. My joy is in opening another window to the viewer – an invitation to see into my place of rediscovery. Whether the artistry of a gentle curve, a special luminescence, or the uniqueness of personality, my photographs reflect my re-examination of the sometimes secreted world around us.

"Thank you for your help with my new art piece, Path to Nausett Beach. This photo and your talent gave me the warmth and space I wanted from art that is in my home. Art needs to have special meaning for me, and link me with a living memory of someone or some place. You gave that to me. The quality of the finished piece is perfection... you offer a very high quality product that is a bonus to your talent as an artist. I am so pleased to look at it every day."

"We are so grateful to have Rob’s photography on display in our acupuncture clinic. His art has helped us create an inspiring and healing setting for our patients. Every day we get compliments on his photography from our patients. Rob really took the time to choose and customize the size and format of the works to match the setting in which they are displayed. He was very open to our thoughts, preferences and input when choosing pieces and planning the display. Rob has the eye of both a naturalist and an artist. His creativity and attention to detail is evident in all phases of his work. The diversity of his photography has allowed us to display both abstract and literal snapshots of life that are beautiful, calming and truly help elevate the human spirit."

"Rob, having your photographs displayed in the lobby and conference rooms of my real estate office has been a very positive experience. Their presence have generated many wonderful comments among my colleagues as well as among clients and potential clients visiting the office. The individual pictures are each a fine showcase of your skill at creating an image that captures the attention of the viewer. The collection on exhibit set just the proper mood. Thank you for your attention to the detail of each print, the framing, and the flawless placement on the walls of each photo relative to the others. Looking forward to my next opportunity to bring your work to the public."

"When I saw the print of the swans on your site, it brought back so many wonderful memories of a special place my family used to visit. The print is beautiful, and I smile every time I walk past it. It truly is a piece of art, and I've received so many compliments on it. Thank you!"

"Rob your pictures have really added value to my practice as you can see from the patient responses:
"The picture of the flowers with big clouds in background make me smile. I want to be lying on the ground watching the clouds pass overhead... Such a very good memory of being a kid..."

"I am SO glad you have that picture to remind me of the joy in life!"

"I just want to float down that peaceful river. I remembered that picture when I was coming in today. I sat by the river to unwind for a few minutes."

"Ha! I want to touch the cow ... he looks so real. Makes me smile!"

Thank you so much!!!"
